It's the Metropolitan Museum of Art and a costume ball - most of those are costumes. It's all in fun, IMO.

Yes, they are costumes!! We have a post on here about men’s actions toward women, and here we have women bashing women? Doesnt make sense to me how critical women are of each other. 🤷

The theme of the night was from a book. Do we honestly think everyone present read the book? Anyone here read it let alone heard of it? Anyone know what they do at this gala? Is it a dinner? a dance? awards? just milling and cocktails? I only ask because many of these costumes were not made to move in or even sit in. I watched one party goer being lifted up the stairs by a group of men because she couldn't really move her legs enough to get up the stairs. The men's outfits were as equally bizarre for those sensitive to women's critiques. It is fun to see the interpretation of the theme but in the end "tawdry" ruled the night and that IMHO is unfortunate. "The Hunger Games" came to my mind too. I'm left wondering do most care most about carrying off the theme or being the most shocking/salacious? Meg Ryan was posted above--never saw her dress paging through the "red carpet" arrays nor Lauren's. They weren't naked and or bizarre enough I am left to assume. There are a lot of couture looks that never make it off the runway. There's no place they make sense. This is one party where they do!!

My biggest issue with the Nespresso is the environmental impact of all those little cup things.

@dedtired, I’d want to see actual eveidence that the returned pods were actually recycled. There are too many stories of materials sent to

”recycling” which were later discovered to be simply stockpiled somewhere.

Cleaning out my parents' house years ago, I found a couple of my old mini skirts from the late 60s/early 70s. I wondered how in the world I ever sat down in them without flashing someone.

;-)

Oh, and I think this dress exemplifies the error in the differing views between generations of what is a great dress for this or that occasion or what would look good on us when we see the dress or whatever on someone more than half our age.

I think it’s a cute dress for the right person, but I don’t know a single girl who would wear it to prom, and I’m pretty aware of what high schoolers are wearing. I have a freshman in college and a junior in high school.

This is from the junior picture party earlier this month.

If you will use it as an actual work top, then nothing but mineral oil is suitable as a knife work finish.

This is such a neutral room that you can really add most any color to it. Find a shower curtain you love then add towels that complement it. OR - Hand a piece of art you love above the shelf over the toilet. Pull colors from that for your shower curtain and towels.

I personally am a fan of monochrome so I'd probably add a simple shower curtain with dark grey trim and very dark grey towels. But, I realize most people want more pow.

I think we do. I just think as mothers, we identify a bit more with our role as mom's and how we would feel in the same situation.

So I go away for a day and the thread takes a turn!

Interesting. I went back and watched the video I linked again and I didn’t see underwear. I had to back and look at more of her videos. I only watch the shorts and it's just glimpse, YMMV. Again my genre is 99% Homeworthy/Quintessence/AD so not sure, but I think it is not that unusual for influencers who show themselves trying on clothes to start in undergarments at times. Maybe the younger ones moreso.. I know no one on Homeworthy has been in undies, to that much I can attest.

As for the impact on her young son, I am reminded of Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart’s famous line about defining obscenity, i.e “I know it when I see it.” There is no sexual intent and factually, she is more modestly clad than most people on beaches. I see nothing wrong with it. And, for me, if there is “nothing wrong with it,” then there is nothing wrong with it for a Mom, either.

My point about Taryn was how she looked into the camera, as if anticipating her detractors and said “yes, I have lumps, it’s fine.” I loved that little matter of fact aside. Teaching women to “make peace” with their imperfections. And I thought she looked great. You don’t need to be perfect.

By contrast, based on the description of the postings by the classmate’s Mom mentioned above, it seems to be intentionally sexual. That's embarrassing no matter what she has on.

Also by contrast the woman below is fully dressed, yet I find her to be inappropriate and an embarrassment to her children. And her parents. And her neighbors. And her president. And her countrymen!

And we have come full circle now!

I hear you, but my take is that if there is nothing wrong with her behavior it should not have a negative impact. It is either wrong or it is not. The fact that kids can be hurt by stupid things other people say is not really relevant if you are doing nothing "wrong." Kids are embarrassed by parents for all sorts of reasons, I am sure we all know of examples. I worry more about legitimate reasons.

I really like it when there is a schematic of the floorplan included, and find myself clicking back and forth between that and photos I am studying. It sounds like you've been really thoughtful about your photo selection, which is clearly not always the case, so I bet you have a terrific collection for prospective buyers.

The only difference is their designed installation. The higher tub has the drain above the subfloor while the lower height one has the drain at the subfloor. As such, the tubs bottom support rails are different depending upon the desired installation and, the front panel, if desired will be different in height. Otherwise the tubs are identical in style and capacity.
