Sheila, I'm getting this impression not only because of the One Love nursery thing; there's also the Garden Roses LLC threads , and the clear dishonesty displayed by some of the Etsy sellers at least as far as the Austin roses go. The extremely defensive attitude displayed by some people who want to believe that everything about the Etsy sellers is hunky-dory is also interesting; it seemsto me like "the lady doth protest too much, methinks" syndrome.

Dear all,

I am going to post this here and in the other thread so everything is clear for everyone.

I reached out to WABARA (Keiji roses).

I copy pasted the list of sellers that appears in the "Etsy rose sellers we can trust" thread and asked Wabara if any of these are authorized resellers paying their royalties .

Below is the reply from Wabara.

I could not find an email address for Kawamoto , so I sent them an actual letter. I suspect their reply will be the same.

The controversy should never have existed, since it is easy to find out the truth : These sellers are all illegitimate. If you want to continue in spite of this information, that's on you.

The good news is that there may soon be a legit way to get Wabara roses.

I emailed GCM Ranch and asked her where roses were grown and she replied

” Thank you for your interest in our company. Have a nice day ”

Get a bigger, durable bag like a nylon feed bag, and mix some soil with your 6 month old chicken manure. Place the mix in the bag and place it where RAIN CAN HIT IT. Remember to poke several small holes in the big bag and place it away from busy areas. Then forget about it until at Thanksgiving time this fall. Open up the bag then and it may still smell to High Heaven, but spread it around your roses, a 1/2 Quart per mature HT type bush. You will have the most lavish first flush from roses thus fertilized in 2025.

After that first flush is over, about July 1, feed with a nice fertilizer like Miracle-Gro Shake 'n Feed for Blooming Plants according to directions for the rest of the season.

I feed my roses pigeon manure, have for years. Chickens/pigeons same difference. Can't believe my eyes how the first flush does, as long as the rose midge flies give me a break. Some years they stay a step ahead of me, other years it's my turn to knock the snot out of them successfully. I've been on the losing side recently, but at least the foliage is luxurious!
