Maybe too late...you may have already chosen and sealed, but we have used Tenax Proseal Nano (for quartzite.) on our Blue Ijen. True quartzite, especially polished, doesn't etch, with or without sealer, but it can absorb liquids. The fabrication of our counters left water stains, but once it was fully dried, we used two coats of the Nano. I have had a few tiny watermarks when visitors left standing water, but so far, nothing permanent. No stains from oils or sauces, etc.. I believe three coats would do the trick--and honestly, a stronger application. We were too prudent, and timid about overcoating, having read that a heavy hand can make it look like plastic. So numerous thin coats is a better choice, IMO.

@Mr_&_Mrs_Perfectionistos Ah. That does not happen with ours, at all. It doesn't happen near the sink either. All I can guess is that the water spots that have appeared are areas that just were missed, or perhaps had contaminates like handoils, or glue from fabricators/sink installers. We were pretty generous around the sinks and stove and edges, etc. Go overboard there. Just find really good advice for prepping for reseal. Make sure you and pets can leave the house for a while. The good sealers all stink. There may be more natural products, but notice no professional names them as effective.
