Paula, what a great idea! I’m all for it! You know that my crazy garden is already pipping or leafing out. Unruly Child 2 days ago and Camellia Satsuma Kurenai yesterday. The azaleas will bloom soon, too.
Great idea Paula. It would be good to see what each of us is doing during the summer.
Im busy dragging pots in and out of the garage, sigh. Once I spotted them pipping I decided I had to put them in some sun so they didn’t etoliate. Now they are MUCH further along than i wanted. Ah well. These should all go in the ground this year.
The beer can in the pot with Viking Ship is just for size reference 😉 - that sucker is HUGE.
THANK YOU from me too! You have brought a smile to many faces for many years, as we wait for Spring to come. I'm hoping you'll keep doing this FOREVER!!!!! ;-)

Thank you, Paula. I followed your alphabet for years as I cultivated my hosta obsession. When the pandemic started, I had a garden full of hostas and nowhere to go. I decided to give back to this forum by sharing my garden with you, the sane garden that Paula and all of you helped me to create in the years before we became friends. And the jokes even get my kids, husband, and MIL laughing. Thank you!
Thank you Paula for helping our "grey" time of year a little faster. Time to dream and plan for spring.
Take lots of pictures and organize them on rainy days - Oh and take more on rainy / cloudy days. . . And post them here so we can enjoy them too . . . even if you think they're ugly (they're not).
If you plant things too close, they will grow like weeds. If you give them the space they need, they will dwindle and die.
Deborah, it’s quite a good illusion, isn’t it? Like Laurie said, ….and to add a bit more, the black patterned fabric is the guy’s shorts as he’s leaning sideways. So what looks like a woman’s shoulders and arm is really his leg bent at the knee and the helmet must be sitting on his handle bars.
Paula, you can check in before December and let us know how your hostas are doing and your progress on other things! Take better photos is on my list, too.
Ah ha!!! Now I see her! Thanks everyone!

Love pic of touching 2 continents. What a challenge.
Feeling behind with this weather... Nicholworth, love those daffodils, so cheerful , mine have started but not there yet.
Plans... This is first year I have not ordered plants. I probably will place small order though. Have 6 trays of new streakers growing and noted lots of small ones from last year heaved out. Remains to be seen on losses.
Started tons of veggie seeds for annual plant swap, May 18 this year.
Need to take care of deck specially railings ASAP as I can only do it now before clematis takes over.
Moved raspberry bushes to the new area, still need to move currants and gooseberries. Still trying to find better locations for them.
Hubby hopefully will work on watering system for veggie gardens.
This year Midwest hosta is conference in WI, hoping to visit.
Started soil program, will have to repeat soil test in the fall.
Started applying Sluggo, will need to do ammonia drench early, all my slugs appear alive and well...

my crocus have come and gone now but my hosta babies are arriving!!!
I wish I would have kept my tags. Great advice here and i see so many varieties i want to add to my hosta garden. Starting with curly fries and teaspoon! 😍
Yes, I am hoping to do a good garden cull this season with a lot of pot, tools and garden-related items which I seem to be accumulating. Will try to get those ready to go!
Yes, one big endless cycle. I feel like I work so hard to clear space, and then as soon as I do, I take one breath, and something else comes along to take up all the space I just cleared.
Congratulations Laurie! Your garden may suffer this year as you will want to spend all your time with your grandson….. unless you take him out with you! Never too young to learn! Lol, lol!

My Grandfather taught me the art of gardening. We planted Glad corms when I was about 3. I still grow them today.
Thank you Debra & Ann! Paula I caught the gardening bug from my parents then I instilled a love of gardening in my daughter from a very young age...and it stuck! Hopefully it is passed to this very new generation.
