How about painting the walls? Perhaps a warm, gentle brown.
You can build semi-dark builtins.
The armchair at the door seems oddly placed.
A light can be a great focal point for the rppm.

Hope this helps!
Here are the updated pics
So once I'm done with a book I've bought, I give it a space on my crowded book shelf, or lend it to someone (and sometimes wait ages (1 yr+) to get it back :) )
I am rereading some of them.
I love to give away books that I have read to my friends for free. But I really like to re-read some books several times, because I constantly find there some new meanings that I have not seen before. You can find this become about how important the theme of materialism is in F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby. I never thought so deeply about this book when I read it.
Those are great names, Ben. Conflict named our first boat ("Old B-rhymes with witch") Or irony can be a good name generator. My DD called her very nice townhouse while in college "The Bumshack." I loved that.
We bought our son a, shall we say, used Honda before going to college. Its first name from him was Red Box of Death. But as it became the only reliable transport for any number of people, by the end of freshman year it was renamed The 'Lude".
You need the rug to be larger and I don't think this one works in the space...I think it feels to youthful.....you can still do bold colors.
Maybe something like this Ikat rug with deep bold colors...
You can also consider something like this floating shelf if you've the wall space. (I found it on Houzz)

I recommend you many bathroom sinks including oval, square, rectangular & round shape of them, you could search them from DreamBath.
Put a pic/painting above the couch and a coloured rug in front of it, and blinds at the window.
If its a wall, you can wallpaper/paint it.

It is also, by the way, most natural for a dog to be outdoors.
I am not, however, for/against either. Its the owner's decision, and opinions were not sought in this discussion.
mate, he won't want to live anywhere apart from you. this is my Zara below, and that is the maximum distance apart from me that she ever is. save your money and just get a decent indoor dog bed.
Hi Sharon! There's plenty of well ventilated dog kennels that will be suitable during both summer and winter. I've seen some that have roofs that can open up during summer and close during winter. If you're keeping your pup outside during winter maybe put a nice dog beds and a few blankets to keep your pup warm!
Jennifer, the trims looking good!
judge the color of walls when there is nothing else in the room
Is the white hard to keep clean? Iam thinking of doing a steal white garage entry door.
We have a small front porch. I'm not big on porches. It's just right. Great for relaxing at dusk on a summer's eve.
I wouldn't mind using it (if someone else cleans it) but I wouldn't buy it - it's just not my style and would look disgusting after each use.
Absolutely stunning. I would not even mind cleaning this. It's so beautiful.\!
Would look good if you also have a frameless glass shower. I think location is key. There should be nothing distracting on the ‘wall’ side of the tub. Don’t want to look through the tub at ground level and see ugly white baseboards. On the photo the tile has been extended to meet the floor.
cool window!
Black can be traditional or contemporary. Different. My kitchen is a dark grey (and towards an olive). The 7 foot window opposite the range is on the south side of the house and a white kitchen would be blinding! We still need to put the crown moulding on....
We remodeled our dated 70s kitchen a year ago. When trying to decide overall color scheme, we took into consideration many factors to include: natural light availability, trinity of color play (walls, cabinets, countertop), staying power of design, ease of cleaning, elegance level, and of course: BUDGET.
Our kitchen was typical ranch style inspired galley kitchen with a focus on ergonomic and efficient layout as it was U-shaped. We were fortunate to have a large window above sink and plenty of natural light coming in from adjoining dining area via two other large windows. As per the style of the 70s our kitchen counter and backsplash were covered by 6x6 yellow tile... Ughhh!! Kitchen appliances were outdated as well and were a mix of manufacturers.
We made no change to the overall footprint as the layout really worked well. Additionally, the cabinets were very solid and we decided to keep rather than replace at substantial cost savings. All I did was paint them in deep dark grey, almost black color and changed the hardware to brushed nickel look. We did replace counter with quartz Calacatta to include grey veining. We also changed the backsplash to a 3x10 white beveled subway tile. Walls were painted in grey with green undertone. We recently swapped out light pendants to clear glass globes to keep things airy. All appliances upgraded to GE Profile series in black stainless to make overall look cohesive.
We kept a careful eye on budget and worked with our various contractors to make sure we stayed within parameters... mostly. The final look is... stunning!
ping pong would draw more players without committing to an entire game like pool :)
first you must have a good 9 footer and the room for it . Enough room for all possible positions and equipment. Most desirable would be a room with NO windows , and maintain the temperature at no higher than 72-74 also humility at 30 . Most important is lighting , absolutely no florescent lighting . Strictly overhead individual bulbs . Brunswick Championship tables are regarded as being the best to play on.
Most people spend waaay more time than would be healthy sitting or lying down. I love the idea of a treadmill or bicycle on front of a standing desk
I have had one from "The Stand Up Desk store and a 20 year chronic lower back issue and my hips in the morning feeling like they could use a "crack" like a chiropractor is gone! I stand up to 8 hours a day, it is hand cracked so no motors to repair in the future, I have not lowered it in over 12 months! I am more productive, do not have to bend to write a note, I pace when I talk on the phone and this has been one of my better business tool investments!
Yes, surely will use a standing desk. As it do has a lot standing desk benefits.
it goes fine with the rug as well. It's not too bright; if anything, it has the perfect amount of contrast with the rest of the room.
The pillows.. Try something darker, eg. coffee brown
G'luck
So, what about that back wall that is currently blank? A good-sized mirror there would reflect light coming through your window.
I'm not 100% sure about this one - the IKEA Stockholm - but I saw it recently in IKEA and it is really quite stunning. It's 31 1/2" diameter. You could centre it in the window opposite - not on the wall it would be on.
I do picture a round mirror there, to pick up on the other medallions and round things in the room.
of course, it doesn't always look good. size of room, furniture, natural light all make a huge difference.
that room is really cool! I love the table
the contrast really works well in your room :)
White or color? Does it matter?
I think that adding a pop of color on the ceiling can really make a statement, but be sure not to overwhelm the aesthetic in your room with too bold of a color..Perhaps a natural but dark tone that doesn't take away from other furniture tones
Win the lottery and put in a counter top by Think Glass :)
If you really wanted a table lamp the first lamp pictured in yr post on Tuesday, with the glass base and round black shade would look good especially a tall one.
good luck!
