Daltile is coming out with 2cm throughbody patterned porcelain at the end of June. I just got a preview, and it is going to be stunning! It is everything that Dekton wanted to be, but couldn't be.

Looks like you have the old 6" cans currently. Since you will be probably doing some drywall repair, maybe resize to the 4" LED lights...it would move them a little more towards the edge. I have them in my kitchen (10' ceiling) and they give plenty of light.

Are you keeping the recessed you have? Just verify the thickness of that trim and add a little.

I am sure the soffit isn't perfectly level either. So you may gain 1/8 or so there as well.
