How timely for me, at age 67. There are some good features of all, but I vastly prefer 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and 2 car garages (all generously sized).

But I wouldn’t pick any of these because none offer a not-so-public kitchen. Many people of my generation have formal style dining room furniture, and an open kitchen/dining just doesn’t suit that.

You can be 55 and healthy/active today and not tomorrow. Keep in mind:

The space for a wheelchair to make a 180-degree turn must be a clear space of 60 inches in diameter or a T-shaped 30 inches by 48 inches of turning space.

Make sure at least one bathroom will allow easy access to sink toilet and shower.

As few steps as possible. Having all those steps to get into the front door and from garage into house are a big negative in a 55+ community.

Some of the more common things I've never done; learned to swim, attended a prom, had anything pierced, tried marijuana (or any other drug), taken a selfie, (well, to be honest, I did try to once, to 'record' a haircut I really liked. But it was a disaster, so I deleted it and have never tried again). I'm sure there are more if I were to really think about it.

I have eaten a corn dog, once, many years ago. Not a mistake I would willingly make again. Personally, I think they are awful and find it hard to realize anyone would actually like something like that. But different strokes for different folks. This would be a pretty boring ol' world if we all liked and disliked the same things,
