Move the credenza to the living room, replacing the smaller one there. Then your dining room will be large enough.
I used peel and stick wallpaper in my laundry room and it looked great, however it was a buggar to hang in tight quarters. It sticks to everything including itself and almost I’m possible to cut around. Next time I’ll use regular wallpaper and paste. The peel and stick is best left for straight runs. It did turn out great in the end.

One crazy phone! Still add something green to the brown countertop and if you put that on the wall hopefully you don't get tired of it cuz otherwise you're peeling your drywall
Your fireplace already looks like it is just applied to the wall. If you add stone then it will look like it's embedded in the wall. So, would advise against adding stone.
No to stone anywhere in your space. It doesn't suit your transitional home and you already have focal points with the fireplace, dry bar and the dark accent wall. Sometimes less is more and that is true in your space. Not every room or home needs to be blinged out. If you must have stone, get some stone coasters.
How much of a “difference” is required? They can both be white in different shades.
IMO this white-on-white combination is stellar. I've been saving this photo for a long time
Yes, my comments were helpful and I stand by them. This fan suffers installer error, nothing more, nothing less. You get to choose whether or not you like what you post on Houzz, you don't get to choose whether or not you like the answers you get.
I have an obligation to tell the truth to readers whether or not it's what people want to hear. I've done so here.
I agree with Sabrina and Hallet--use the counter top material as a short backsplash.
On another note to the OP, my Mom had the exact same name as you! Not a very common one. Are you in New York?
With only all shutters removed, the house looks so much better...
From the photo above, I would remove all the shutters-wow! Paint entry door a vibrant color and put your $$ into landscaping. Lovely!
Why can’t you use rods? It looks like you have room.
Swagging the fabric you showed and mounting it on knobs requires a very good workroom. You can't just fold it and place it on the knob, it's too heavy and won't stay and could look haphazard.
Do you have someone who can sew them for you and can advise you exactly how to mount the swags?
The windows in this old home are trimmed in antique heart pine. Because we wanted to feature the beautiful trim, we didn't want the window treatments to cover it. So we used swags mounted on knobs or hidden cleats.
This one is a silk velvet with a beautiful drape/hand that's carefully swagged. The hardware is hidden by the rosettes:
This one is mounted inside the frame, gathered and tacked to the upper part of the sash:
These are casually swagged and hung from knobs by loops sewn to the top of the "bell"
Hope that helps you to see what your options are.
Cut a piece of wood to the same size add padding and upholstery for a much more comfortable seat.
Try losing the vertical blinds
Add some color
Get a BIG rug
You need a cocktail table
You need some lighting
You need art!
You need some serious softness, some texture, to counteract all the hard and smooth and cold in the space.
As to what? You first need to draw and measure the space, include the dimensions of the couches as well. Feet and inches for every wall window.
Add mote pictures and PLEASE OPEN THE BLINDS?
Yes, your living room looks like a natural history museum. I expect dinosaurs to come out of the fireplace.
I don't think painting this rock will help because of how 3D the projections are and how porous the texture is. I'd talk to contractors about removal and starting over with a something you like.
Start by removing a small area to see what is behind and what you are getting in to.
Pick a color from the stone and paint your garage door the same color.
If you roof is grey, at least sounds like there's some grey in it, a light grey stain for the siding (either semi transparent or solid depending on the actual colour now) would give somewhat the same look as in my sketch. It's not white but a light colour would work nicely with the stone & tile flooring you have in your entrance.
I showed a modern style for the front door because you windows on the front of the house seemed modern.
Yeah, we’re trying to find a paint color that’s sort of griege with just a hint of green because our roof tiles are gray/green/white. I just need a good app that I can test out colors!
Power wash or use an enzyme cleaner like Simple Green. Safe to use around plants, pets, wildlife and water sources.
Agree about that wall paint- I think that will go a long way - remember changing the footprint of the island will impact the flooring
I don’t undertand the worry anout having to periodially repaint brick, when the rest of the house with siding will also need repainting. If you do proper prep and use products specifically designed for brick, lots of people have posted that their painted brick has been maintenance free..
I think your house would look wonderful all painted one color.
You can play with paint visualizers on different paint websites, if you don’t have photoshop skills.
Looks lovely! Grew up with a claw foot tub and can’t tell you how many times I came near to cracking my head open. Please install some sort of beautiful grab bar or even a wooden step. You get especially more confident getting in and out over time and that’s when accidents happen.
Your new bathroom is gorgeous! I
love the freestanding tub and for some of us, the aesthetic overrides the cleanup requirements. Great job!
Lovely remodel! We just completed a similar remodel where we opted for a free standing tub, understanding potential downsides. I use a Swiffer around it with no problems and exercise caution getting into and out of the tub. Am sure you will enjoy yours as well. Nice job.
