Lilyfinch, I agree - I think their refund options were a good balance to appeal to the different types of buyers they have. I did consider the offer to wait a year and add on two new roses (some of the new offerings are very interesting to me) but given the issues they have been having this year with fullfillment I decided I needed to take a break from them until they can get the kinks ironed out. I’m also clearly not the target for their marketing strategies and just find it exhausting.

I ordered Evelyn last August as soon as it became available and it went fast I believe. I just checked and the email came in 8/1 at 10:05 am and I got the confirmation for my order of both the bareroot and grafted at 10:09 am. I’m a sucker for Evelyn, what can I say 🤷‍♀️

I still have White and Pink O’Hara, Mansfield Park and MP Pink, Notting Hill, and Unforgettable coming, hopefully before too long!

Diane, & Friends,

After showing that instagram photo of the ”VERY LARGE GRF grafted potted roses,” and her promise they would be big-I would not be concerned about their size.

Also, Grace really cares to send quality shipments/roses, I have experienced!

I received Ashley & Georgia Peach, own-root, potted last Nov 2023 delivered- blooming, very big, green lush leafed out! Most beautiful shipment of roses I ever received.

Georgia Peach, I just put in pot after arrived in a pot. Blooming on arrival!

Ashley Exclusive potted upon arrival -I put in my pot.

And I order hundreds of roses in past.

(2 Ashley Exclusive roses in one pot.) Georgia Peach Exclusive is one rose.

And I ordered Rouge Royal, Notting Hill Exclusive and Yoga Trendsetter Exclusive.

YT was a 2023 order from GRF. . Notting Hill replaced order of one couldn’t be delivered.-these 2 are delayed to this spring. Rouge R I ordered last winter to deliver this doring. . They sent me a coupon to give me a $100 bouquet for delaying my order to this spring 2024.. I used coupon for a free-Constance bouquet was soectacular-most beautiful I have ever seen!

Thank you Grace R Farm!!!!

Free Gift Coupon for Constance Bouquet, I selected.

I am excited to eventually receive my 3 roses coming! Wonder what they will be like! Expecting quality! She is great!

Lilyfinch, I hope someone can answer so I can get it too! Its very pretty and the lack of thorns would be a plus next to my very small driveway.

Maybe if you remember where you ordered or bought roses from in the period that you accquired this rose that would help narrow it down? Scent?

Jen - I was just thinking...did you ever buy a rose from Palatine? Could it be their own hybridized Forever Rose?

Artist - I saw your thread then went back out to double check my rose, there is no powdery mildew on this rose, now on blossomtime thats another story.

Moses - It does look like a new basal cane, the buds kinda looked like a witches broom so thats what alerted me to the dreaded possible RRD. I'll keep an eye on it.

Thank you both.

Haku … since rrd is pretty rare here I’d say keep an eye on it . I have some weird spring growth too , almost as if my feeding the rose gave the cane energy boost and the rest of the rose needed to catch up . I think it’ll be ok later in the spring for you !

Also I wanted to say when I Blossomtime it got powdery mildew in the worst ways each spring! It was bad

Hoang it is beautiful but I agree ! Those thorns are not to be played around by. Mine is still small and I think of digging it out every time I go near bc it really seems like a hazardous rose !! It would be perfect to keep out intruders

I agree Diane...I don't care about the thorns. It's part of roses. But then, I don't have really huge plants.

Thank you for posting this. very interesting for me as my daughter bought me this rose for my birthday last October. No buds on mine yet (I am in the UK) but hoping for some soon! It had buds last November but DA advised me to remove them.

If smaller blooms are acceptable the polyantha Kendal Marie would be spectacular planted in mass. It doesn’t stop blooming until hard frost and it is much smaller than Flamenco and larger than my drifts. 3 to 4 feet tall easily. I keep mine small due to location.

Extreme blackspot resistance, no scent. Picture from today.

Jeri , yours is so beautiful!

I was very lucky to find mine locally at waterwise botanicals when they sold quite a few different roses . I haven’t been back in a while but they had rows of lovely roses to choose from . My plant just hasn’t grown lush yet. It’s gangly but hanging on ! I’m hoping it eventually fills out and maybe I can share cuttings bc it is a gorgeous rose !

Gorgeous. I love the slightly cupped form and the well-shaped and well-placed petals, and the glowing center. It manages to be elegant and casual at the same time.

Diane,

I found my Candlelight a shriveled up little thing sitting with the weeds. I still cannot believe I did that, am I that absent minded?! I should probably just tell you I saved small child or prevented a forest fire, had some other super important emergency that I had to negliect my very expensive little plant.

Last year I bid on huntingtons pink ice . I won it at 60ish dollars but I was prepared to get to 100 if I had to ! It was so exciting to win . I was fortunate to pick it up at a members gorgeous garden and was blown away by how many rare roses they managed . They have a wonderful collection.

good luck Alice !!

Kim, thanks for your first hand information on this stunning Ralph Moore rose, Pink Powderpuff. How I wish I had the space for it, and someone younger to climb a stepladder when it might need some trimming. The photos on HMF are gorgeous, and I wish there were more. And, yes, I hope this rose is grown for many decades to come. Thanks again.

Thank you plantloverkat. How do you like this rose and do you have any photos to show us? I'm very taken with it, but I'm going to have to wait until next year to grow it. I think Ben got his Golden Zest from RU, too. Diane

I got my Golden Zest from RU a couple of years ago now, since it’s now in year 3. It’s one of my favorites.

At sunset it photographs more pale than it is, early morning sun it looks as Golden as its name suggests it should.

One of the reasons I have stuck around this forum was the over all maturity of folks. They could agree to disagree even if they felt very strongly about something. I think that is a very rare quality on forums and social media nowdays. Things have went a little South since the Pandemic, I think. We should allow people to voice their opinions and questions without judging.

We are all rose lovers and on the same vine!(cane what have you..lol)

I am by no means sticking up for bad business practices, patent/$ stealing/shady importing, etc.

It is what it is and I will say it, like it is-whether a business is good or bad. I am not gonna dwell on it though because everyone can make their own decisions on how to deal with information once they have it.

*Back to the non-depressing stuff*

@Lilyfinch z9a Murrieta Ca you can try Burling or you can contact Steve Singer at Wisconsin Roses. https://wiroses.com/catalog Burling may have it or access to it but it's not on her 2024 Rose List. With Steve, you'll have to either send him the bud wood or arrange for someone else to send it when he's ready, usually around July. Or, since you have a plant, get hold of a stock, practice budding and make one yourself Using chip budding and Pink Clouds, it isn't difficult and it requires significantly less skill and accuracy than the traditional "T" budding. There are Pink Clouds around and HCR is now listing it, but appears to be out of stock.

My country of residence makes no difference as I hold a US passport plus the citizenship that goes with that status. I literally could move home tomorrow and take up full time residence. Trying to invalidate my opinion by attacking my current place of residence is null and void. Further, i also have the skill set and the contacts in the financial sector to consult for opinions that matter in these situations. I took the time because I watched people going through something I‘ve experienced myself recently. I’m also not hampered by certain things since I live abroad.

I suggest you stop attacking me

I was watching this company because my mother happens to reside in the US and she would like some of the older Austins. I more than likely would’ve been a customer if things were being run to a good standard. I do my research before spending large amounts of cash.

Blaming customers for getting there hard earned cash back is ridiculous at best and this is why I spoke up to begin with. Way to many people were being silenced and attacking me will change nothing about what I choose to say. if you don’t like it then scroll by and dont read it.

When I moved into my old house back in 1994 there was a huge unknown red rose bush on the property...My girlfriend showed me how to care for it...Around 2006 my Mom wanted that bush so I transplanted it to her house...( its still at her house to this day..) I actually missed it so bought a Precious Platinum rose in 2007-08ish that started me growing roses...

I no longer have PP and I have moved into a another

house in 2021...

I planted Easy on the Eyes May 20, 2020 as a band from High Country Roses. It is a BEAUTIFUL rose! One of my favorites.

Pics taken June 28th, 2023.

Closer up of flowers.

For me it is still small as it is only 3 yrs old. The first year it was cane hardy here in zone 5 CO. Last year it was a little lopsided as our -20F temps caused some die back (but it did not die to the ground). It is at the back edge of my rose bed which probably still gets adequate sun but as the tree and bush behind it get bigger it is getting less than full sun.

For me it has not grown tall so I would put it in the front of the bed where it can be a showpiece.

Even closer up view of the flowers. They are so pretty!

Here she is a year earlier, June 12, 2022.

June 18, 2022. Iceberg to the upper left and Livin Easy lower left.

I'm very interested to see what it does this year! So far she is very well behaved. Stays compact and controlled with no trimming from me other than to dead head off the large bouquets of flowers. We don't shape it at all and it doesn't throw any tall or long canes. I don't recall it having a fragrance but it is too low to smell so I don't know if I have checked.

You people are all amazing! For example, even in light of the strong evidence that Nate is a crook, see (Anyone get your roses from Garden Roses yet? This post was placed by 'judijunebug,' last month.), the willingness of our members to bend over backwards to hold out hope that he is 'reformed,' and just over his head suffering from mental illness and leaving a trail of criminal acts, speaks to the strong character and Godly hearts you have. That's all I have to say, except, keep up your goodness. It's so much needed in these trying times.
