Not a fan of DW drawers, but have to agree with Mtn that fridge drawers are great. I am no longer 20 and spending lots of time on my dorm floor. The drawers are so much easier for beverages and such -- pull out the drawer and see everything versus bend and dig. They are expensive, but that make sense.

Definitely will do that - though I imagine I won't be able to hear them. I really don't want loud, especially now that I got rid of the loud dishwasher.

I wound up delivering an altered dress to a school yesterday and stopped by my son's school to lend him a hand with some paperwork. He's coordinating their region auditions this weekend. I drove home at lunch -- just as it was beginning. Total cloud coverage and drizzling rain. By the time I got home, I drove through some heavy rain and the light quality seemed like 7 p.m. rather than closer to 1 p.m. It got a little darker even though the rain eased and then got lighter and the rain stopped. Never would have known there was a solar eclipse here -- would have just thought it was darker clouds if it hadn't been all anyone was talking about.

Since it looked like I was giving an update, I decide to do just that. As far as my hair goes, I’ve kind of let it go feral. And I’m fine with that. It’s got browns and whites and grays and probably looks odd to some, but I like it. Every so often I get tempted togo back to Brown with blonde highlights but then I remember how much I hate the upkeep so I don’t.

Life has been busy with family and work and travel. I’ll start an update thread one of these days.

I would swear I posted on this last night, but don’t see it. I don’t think I used a trigger word, I was just saying ours came last night.

It’s supposed to start at 12:20 here. I‘m getting excited! We do have some cloud cover, but the eclipse is still going to be fun to watch. :)

ETA: It might be my imagination, but the light outside seems a bit different right now.

Unless you have some special dietary concerns, I wouldn't consider pizza for dinner as self-destructive. Fix yourself (or order) a salad to go with or eat a piece of fruit for dessert if it helps you feel better about it, but enjoy your pizza. A Friday night classic.

So it's the crust that is the main issue for you? I haven't tried a lot of gluten free crust pizzas, but they are likely more carb friendly. And thin crust over deep dish -- and maybe sourdough if you can find it (I think I read something about it being less spikey?). And doesn't having the meat and vegetables provide balance? And I agree with you -- you have to feed your soul sometimes as well as your body.

lucille, in Feb, when DD moved from her rental to her first home, she had a similar fb experience with an outdoor sofa. It sounded so aggravating, so she got plenty of mom sympathy, as do you!

Sorry if this is yucking anybody's yum, but I just don't see the point of cauliflower pizza crust - or any of the other cauliflower subs that have become so popular. All I can think of is the gas they must induce, not to mention the taste.

(And I do like cauliflower - as cauliflower, not pretending to be something else.)

Jennifer Hogan referred to a report that found that the more money the wife makes, the less the husband does. I found that particularly interesting. During our marriage, but for a few years, I made considerably more than my husband. He did absolutely nothing around the house.

Jennifer, there was also a study that found women’s household tasks have a deadline…you have to have supper on the table by a certain time; children have to be in bed by a certain time; grocey shopping must be done before you run out of food, etc. While the tasks that are traditionally considered ”men’s chores,” can slip a day or two with no problem…If the grass doesn’t get mowed until tomorrow, or the oil in the car doesn’t get changed for another 1,000 miles, it doesn’t matter

It's 3am and I am waking up DH and dogs from laughing so hard!

If only The University of OK did the same video changing our two mascot's names, Boomer & Sooner" to something lame like The Squirrels we'd be on the national news. lol

Never heard of The Real Slim Sherri & this is the first one that popped up. I'm sending it to DH because he says the same thing all the time at the end of the video, he'll relate. New fan here.

It's age restricted and can only be watched on this YT link. What you like less and less as you get older

The Soprano's theme song for school is hilarious. It led to my favorite scene and song on The Sopranos.

It's also age restricted! Link to YT video

Sorry to hear that, but certainly sounds like the right thing for their family and the dog. That dog sounds like she may need to be with a single person or quieter couple -- very different from an active family with 4 young children. I hope she finds something that suits her better and that the kids find a dog that can match their energy in a positive way.

I did actually try to delete this thread a few times and although it says deleted and all 73 or 84 comments, it's still here. When I went to edit it again I deleted it from Home Dec Conversations, and thought I could delete it from KT forum but as you see it's still here.

I give up. That's a cute one Oly!

I love the Baker chair and would have been a sucker for it too. The pair are nice too -- more upholstery work, but they would be very nice in a tapestry.

I told my sister of my thoughts to try to restore my grandmother's chair and she was less than enthusiastic. Looking at the fine details and the amount of work it would take, if it would even work, I'm less sure about it myself. Meanwhile, I'm working on a file cabinet makeover and a restoration of my grandmother's old sewing machine cabinet so I can put the old black Singer back in it and see how she works! My nephew put an embossed vinyl seat upside down on the unprotected cabinet and kept them out in his garage -- in the Texas heat, for years before asking if I wanted it. The vinyl ate into the finish -- I assumed I would have to paint it, but I'm trying to restore it without killing it. My chair waits -- got any ideas, Jinx? LOL

Our tree is still up. It has always felt like something enjoyed too much to be so short lived., but once married the reasoning shifted. DH is a bit compulsive in the way he has to do everything Christmas tree related and it took the joy out of decorating the tree for me, so it's his job now. I enjoy the lights so I don't usually start feeling like it's time to take it down until mid to late January. After that, I start teasing him about decorating it for Valentine's day and Easter. We had our son here until late last week and this week has been crazy with unplanned things, so the tree is still up. The wreath came down right after Christmas -- our weather had been so warm that it was starting to turn fast. Now we get the cold. Now it feels like Christmas weather. LOL We may light the fire in that room and enjoy it through this coming week, but I'd like to have it down before we get busy in the gardens and all our attention moves outdoors.

Dmac, meant to add my congrats as well. As long as the tree is artificial, you get a pass on decorations for as long as you like from me. If you are lucky, you will have a napper and start getting things done before long. Hope so.
