Skin cancer is always in the back of my mind. I was a teen that fried herself with baby oil and iodine. Mostly I now have lots of brown spots, so attractive. I usually show the dermatologist some spot and at just a glance she says oh that's nothing.

I love seeing hostas at pip stage and clematis have all leafed out already. Sour cherry trees are almost ready to bloom, and weather says 24 degrees tonite. I think they will be ok. I hope so for my neighbor's sake. She and her daughter come pick cherries every year and she makes cherry preserves to sell at her farmer's market stall.

Have been going to the children's hospital 3x a week to sit with my daughter. Her new baby is in NICU cause she was born so early. My daughter goes and sits and holds her every day, all day. Baby girl may come home this week after 5 weeks. Spring is especially sweet this year.

Thank you Debra & Ann! Paula I caught the gardening bug from my parents then I instilled a love of gardening in my daughter from a very young age...and it stuck! Hopefully it is passed to this very new generation.

Try Vermont Country Store online--they have lots of curtain styles. Good quality and service at reasonable prices. They purchased Country Curtains several years ago.

Here's a link to their line of pinch pleat curtains:

ladypat - The northern Gulf of Mexico has Blue Crab and Stone Crab which are both edible but a bit of a hassle to eat. Steaming is the most common way to prepare crab. About 5-6 minutes for frozen Snow Crab legs is perfect.

We are indeed blessed with prime beef in our area. I have a small herd of Hereford/Angus crosses commonly referred to as Baldies. I haven't purchased beef in over a decade.

ladypat, better grocery stores carry cooked crabmeat in little tubs. Often in the refrigerated deli section in store. No preparation required. Make a Louie salad using a good Thousand Island dressing and put the crabmeat on top.

As most harvested seafood is destined for sale and consumption far from where it's caught, frozen seafood is the rule. Seafood flash frozen right after coming out of the water and handled properly thereafter is a very acceptable substitute for fresh. I live on a coast, not inland like you, and the freezing of seafood allows me to enjoy items that originate elsewhere, even from far away. Alaskan salmon is a good example, a great product that, even coming from the same coast as where I live, is caught too far away to be enjoyed fresh here so it's always previously frozen. Though, we sometimes can find local salmon and that is fresh.

I did just the little toilet room in my bathroom, to try and see how I felt about doing it. NO! My arms killed me and had to stop every 10 minutes. Only used scraper and bottle of water spray. What a mess. That tool that is scraper and vacuum in one might help. but you still have to hold your arms up. There was some repair/ smoothing to be done around light fixture, that I still dont like the looks of . Not worth it to me.

I'd get rid of the popcorn ceilings throughout the house. Hire it done in one fell swoop while you have the dumpster. No future buyer will want popcorn ceilings, and you might as well enjoy the smoother look yourselves.

Bought a house in Florida 11 yrs ago. Every room had popcorn ceilings. We hired a painting company to remove it. They sprayed something and scraped it off. We weren't moved in yet. It was messy but they got it done.

Then the ceilings were textured and painted.

Looks good.
