I chop! Although people say it's a "staged" look, that's exactly the look I'm going for because, let's be real, I only care what my pillows look like when someone's coming over.

I think it depends on the space as well. To me the chopped looks better on the chair you have pictured-making it more casual and not as stiff looking. But in other places fluffed looks more warm and inviting.

I don't know who started the chop trend but I think it looks messy, like you forgot to fluff the pillows.

Growing up, all the closets in my house had mirrored doors with horrid gold frames (thank you, 90s). I've avoided them at all costs since then.

I'd have mirrored doors. If I wanted my bedroom to feel like the swim suit change room. All you'd need is the terrible florescent lights to bring it all back. Oh, the horror!

If closet doors span a wall, I want them to "work" the room. So, I either would invest in fabulous custom doors like those from Raumplus or mirrors which always add some ZIP. C'mon. I'm advocating some self-love here. And if you absolutely loath your body, exercise more and go on a fresh juice diet. If the room is messy, clean it up. Just read here on Houzz about setting a timer for quick cleans of a few minutes at a shot (but reset if you're on a roll!). A shame to waste the good part of one fourth of a room on mediocrity whatever you choose.

If you're looking for midcentury, you gotta get an Eames lounge chair like this one:
