How can white go "out?" 1.) It's a neutral. 2.) It looks clean and people love clean kitchens. 3.) It's a traditional classic. 4.) It goes with everything.

. Is a crisp white shirt ever dated? Do white classic Keds ever look wrong ?

What about white toilets and tubs?!

Lots of other colors have had a moment in kitchens and in baths.

The word may be moment:) some longer than others. Some left and returned in diiferent iteratiions. Some not so much! Brown sink anyone???

Overall? Probably white returns MOST often and so frequently….. we never even notice it may have briefly taken a hiatus. Short:)

I run a catering biz from my home and I hvae 1 DW it has a quick wash cycle that does a load in 23 mins. I even find it great when we have a dinner party to do the load from each course as we get the next one plated. If once a week is the use IMO awaste of money and you do know DWs used all the time last longer .

I find it sad that people on here have to “brag” that they only run the dishwasher every other day or twice a week.

You see that as bragging? I'd call it discussion /realism.

It does not sound like you really 'need' the second DW.

I'd argue that no one "needs" a second dishwasher, but many things discussed in detail on this board are far from "needs".

Loss of potential storage space.

In my mind, this is the big deal. When you add a duplicate dishwasher, you're probably going to add in more cabinetry for storage ... cabinets are expensive, counter tops are expensive. And duplicate this and that drives up the size of your kitchen, adding steps to your work each day.

It's hard to beat SIMPLE and well-designed.

For background, we entertain A LOT and having a DW for dishes and another for larger trays would be glorious

I understand having a lot of dishes when you entertain, but I don't see the problem in running one load while another is sitting in the sink waiting.

It may be of interest that the viable mechanical dishwasher was invented by socialite Josephine Cochrane, patented in 1886, marketed in Chicago IL in 1889, and exhibited at the 1893 Chicago World's Fair. Mrs. Cochrane was distressed that household hired help often damaged her fine dishware during handwashing. She resorted to washing the items herself, found the task a drudge, so developed a hands-off (other than loading/unloading) water spray machine to do the job. Her company eventually became KitchenAid.

I've had my Coretec floors 6 years now and I use wet swiffer wipes with no problems. I got a bottle of that special pH neutral cleaner and I don't even use it now.

Lisacee: my Pergo laminate flooring cleaning instructions, from the Pergo Company, recommends to use only diluted vinegar to clean the floors: 1/4 cup vinegar to 4 cups of water, rinse with water.

IMO honing makes the poores more oen to staining and I hate quartz at the best of times and honed IMO just bad. Even honed real stone absorbs grease and some stains .

Many negative reviews on Houzz regarding honed quartz: staining, looks dirty, inability to keep it clean. I have polished Silestone quartz countertops in my kitchen. I love them, no issues and they look fabulous.

A few years ago we had our 3 bathrooms renovated. We purchased remnant quartz countertops from a local stoneyard at quite a cost savings! We chose Emerstone quartz, color: Crema Marfil, for our sage colored vanities; and Pental quartz, color: Thassos (white) for our charcoal vanity. All 3 countertops look as good today as the day of installation. No chipping, scratching or staining. Easy clean up with dish soap and water. Best of luck on your journey!

A mvp probably would help for visualization. Where would you be pulling your data from, and how would your app provide value beyond the data source? Also, if you plan to be ad-free, what is your revenue stream going to be?

We get posters here all the time that get to the spacer stage and flip out. Once all the visual noise is removed they tend to like it.

Yanni Guo your bathroom looks beautiful; very serene and well done. I wouldn't be change a thing. I would be tempted to use the floor tile around the tub.

Thanks for the thoughtful replies.

I thought the hardware on that vanity was odd too. But then I realized, like @catbuilder pointed out, there were clear rods involved. I don't care for the look myself.

I'm pretty sure the full pieces will fit on even the smallest drawers, but I also thought that if they didn't, I could simply use the crystal knob portion where necessary. That's why I liked that they were usable both ways - with and without the plate.

@kandrewspa - I totally get what you're saying about the Shaker cabinets and I'm sure that you're right in that they are meant to be more plain and simple. But I'm also pretty sure that my chandelier is probably not exactly in keeping with that simple style either. I'm not so much worried about it looking busy for the style, but just to my own eye. If that makes sense.

I guess I'm going to have to order the pulls and see how I feel about them.

But finally, @kculbers, thank you for your comment. That really is the attitude I'm trying to embrace with this entire project, and especially with this bathroom!

It makes me happy when people find things they love and get to incorporate them into their spaces! I like the idea of using these like your drawing details - and using a simpler/smaller knob on each base's top drawer just to break it up somewhat (if the crystal knob sans backplate works size/proportion wise, even better!).

Also shout out to your storage solution - I'm doing something similar (although perhaps more extreme - console sink/no vanity flanked by two tall cabinets. We also know our stuff and I prefer everything behind a closed door (it's the secret to happiness in a marriage between someone who can't deal with visual clutter (me) to someone who is prone to creating clutter (him)).

Please post photos when it's finished!

That is not the only solution. Engineered stone is here to stay, no matter how much you and Patricia hate it. Check out some of the quartzite horror theads here, there are more than four, and get back to us please.

I think it looks LOVELY as is.
Doesn’t need drapes and doesn’t need paint either! You have a great eye for design and a great sense of style!

The only thing I’m thinking is switching out the ceiling fan for a light fixture. But I don’t know if maybe you need and use the fan consistently…

Left side second from the top for a dark match. I'd look for more sources for a light match.

Cindy:

Place your fingernails on the front edge of the countertop and raise up to see if they catch on the seam at the top lamination. They should not. The top lamination should have been trimmed with a 7* bevel bit and filed to flush. If your nail catches, that's fabricator error and the cause of the chip.

Thank you, everyone, for your answers. I didn't paint the cabinet, and I realize it blends in with the room. I bought some new sheets and rugs instead, which turned out well, and I really like them.

You can also consider getting a new front door. I had a new front door also installed recently. The new door adds much needed natural light to the entry way. It is a Therma Tru triple locking door, well made and very secure. In the spring I plan to paint it a pale gray.

If you really love those tiles, then let them be your only busy touch and paint the stair handrail black.
