I would not be able to live with that tile selection. It's very blue.

I'm a little color-confused.

Your tiles, wall and counter are in the cool color family, but your cabinets are in the warm color family.

If you have nice oak floors consider an area rug instead. Easier to change, or remove when it’s decided all hardwood would be preferred. Carpet stores can bind the edges of a carpet if you prefer that to a ready-made area rug. And, yes, if you are replacing wall-to-wall carpet you will need to finish the tack strip edge area.

If you are only changing the floor color and the wall color you need to consider the things that will stay. Kitchen cabinets, countertops, bathroom vanities, tile flooring in the bathroom. For me it included my furniture. I have MCM teak furniture throughout my home that I had no intention of replacing ever.

Do you want to paint all the trim and doors? If not, you need to consider what white is already there.

Another thing to think about is how the colors you love will work with the things that must stay. We all have a few colors that call out to us when we are shopping and say "Buy Me", :"Take me home" "You love me". . . The color shows up in art and vases and bedding and towels and pillows . . .

Pick your flooring first. It covers a huge amount of space and will influence the wall color choices.

Once you have nailed down the flooring, look at the various whites and light neutrals next to a sample of the flooring in natural daylight. In natural daylight you will see all the sins. Some whites will look pink next to the floor, some will look yellow, some green, some gray. Find the ones that works in natural daylight and you will know which color family to target and can go lighter or darker.

I generally choose a main neutral (can be white) for all the main areas of the home and add color or deeper neutrals to bedrooms and bathrooms.

Need to know your flooring and main space neutral before deciding on those colors, but sometimes we know that we love some special color for our master suite or fell in love with this great wall paper that must go into our powder room. Why paint it white if you know you really love dark green?

I'd go with the 70", and something lower to the ground with a plain front/sides that matches your flooring to ground it and not compete with the fireplace. You should lower the tv, too...

You are 100% positive, this is the ONLY wall for tv?

The fire: The mantel and ship lap detail is incongruous with the quite traditional surround and the herringbone marble. That really is part of the issue as much as size of console: )

There's too much going on in that area.

For now? I'd lower the tv, have no console.

Or? Give us more pics of the room and perhaps a different location? A bit less decor on the mantel would help as well.

If it is a basic builder stained trim, then I would definitely paint it white. It won't really lighten the room, but will give it a more updated feel.

Get a variety of paint chips in all the colors of your brick. Match the color you like best. Paint your trim that color. Pick another color from the brick pallet for the front door. Put in a curved landscape bed that starts at one side, continuing the curve across the walk, ending at the driveway. The walkway from the street should be wide enough for two people to walk side by side.

I think Lyn’s color suggestions are good and would give the house more ”life,” especially with the long, low roofline. The brick is nice; make sure the City Loft (or whatever color you choose) works well with the brick. Yes to landscape work.

Can you post another picture? everything just looks all grey. Or, take close-ups of each item: bricks, roof, windows (if you don't plan on painting them). Also, the ground looks covered in stones (also grey), are you planning of putting-in grass?
