I love how people bash Farrow and Ball. Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams are American brands and not available in Europe although Sherwin Williams may be soon as they have been on a corporate buying spree. Both are excellent paint products The cabinets I painted with Farrow and Ball have been moved three times, opened and shut everyday several times a day and I am happy to say look just as good as when I painted them. Farrow and Ball is a full spectrum paint. Benjamin Moore has developed a similar product called Colour Stories which is also a full spectrum paint. They use far more and higher quality pigments and combinations with no black in their formulations. Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams have spent a lot of money making their paints stable so they do not change colour as much. You are comparing apples and oranges. I use Benjamin Moore in North America because it is good paint and my clients love it. You cannot colour match any paint. Benjamin Moore themselves recommend not colour matching their colours because over time they will change because companies do not use the same formulation or pigments as the other. They prefer not to colour match other people's paint. A professional paint store will tell you this. Trying to colour match Farrow and Ball will only lead to disappointment as you will never get the right colour. Farrow and Ball was established to paint some of the most beautiful and oldest estates in Great Britain. Their pigments and formulations were developed to mimic the beautiful paints used in the past. Farrow and Ball made their reputation from word of mouth because colour
designers fell in love with the them. I do not trust a painter who cannot handle Farrow and Ball. When I interview painters my first question is can they handle FB. If the answer is no I move on. Sorry to vent on this post but I am tired of people knocking FB and making statements that are inaccurate.
