Wow! You really know your way around a glue gun! That hat turned out great and what a fabulous outfit. Just love that sweater.
Yep...traveling with a glue gun is OTT! 😂 On the other hand...YOU and the hat LOOK
A M A Z I N G !! You didn't just save the hat, you made it a fashion statement hat!
One of my DDs bought a hat like that when we were traveling the Greek islands. It was quite an issue boarding little planes with that hat when we were island hopping! Doesn't quite fit in the overhead either.
It's such a diva hat, but you made it your own. You look great! And OTT is the way to live. : )
More than once, from more than one person, I have received hand-knit dishcloths. They are wonderful! I use them, think of the giver in love and gratitude. One person included two sewn together to be a hot pad, love it.
My young catsitter gave me a painting she did of our two cats, sitting looking at the moon, with their tailw entwined in a heart. She was 11, and the small canvas hangs happily in my kitchen by the cats’ dining area.
That happened to me last year. I got an alert on my phone to get out of the car and into a building if possible. I went to a large gas station in the area and the station asked everyone crowd in the bathroom.
The only time I've been near a tornado was in the 1960s. I was driving to work when a minor tornado appeared. There had been no warnings. I drove my little Healey into a low spot beside the two lane road -- not quite a ditch but lower than the road -- and waited as it whipped past. Weather was dry everywhere else. It was very minor, quickly gone, no serious damage.
LOL @ Elmer
When my son was about three, a friend of mine was in a new job at the local radio station. It was his first day "live" on air, and the tornado sirens went off while driving home from work with my son in the truck.
My friend lost his cool a bit, and exclaimed something like this ... a tornado is on the ground! Take shelter immediately!
My son instantly became just as excited, loudly proclaiming ... Mama! A tomato is coming! A tomato is coming! Go home, Mama!
Lol…I will not put them up in my attic since I finally got it cleaned out and organized. I like the artwork idea….thanks!
I think it depends on if you have a repurpose idea already or if this is something you commonly do. I would save them but I always have a project. If you complete repurpose projects at the rate of twice a decade then I suggest you donate them.
Thanks, bb. I am thinking about trying Cryocorrect…I have several specific spots that emerged after I stopped taking estrogen that are very dark, under my eye area so (to me at least) very visible and not easy to cover up without spackling on makeup.
PS I am thinking the disposable eye patches would be used for special occasions when I want to look good. Definitely not a daily thing.
Today is my botox consult! Ironically also the day I see my dentist about the crown that partially broke thanks to teeth grinding. I definitely want the botox for the grinding/TMJ but I could be convinced to do a tiny bit around my eyes…curious to see what she recommends.
@Kswl one of the eye masks I looked at contained caffeine, niacinamides, and some other stuff, most of which is in theEmogene eye serum I already use. I think the masks are substantially the same as using eye cream and plastic wrap. 😆 I think I’ll pass.
I did not realize the Emogene eye serum I use also contains bakuchiol!
The PA I saw yesterday had just had microneedling done the day before. Her skin is gorgeous and she does not wear make-up. I meant to ask her about microneedling for me and forgot.
I don't think I would have given her back considering the lack of care. I am so sorry for you AND the dog.
I am not sure about the others but can tell you that RH is horrible. Also you state that you want to work with a single company. I think that is a mistake and typically leads to an underwhelming space.
Re. upholstered goods
On a side note, I did learn that the quality of the sofa in my formal living room didn't really matter much because it does not get used much. But the quality and durability of the family room upholstered furniture is very important if you don't want it to look tattered within a couple of years.
I found this blog on identifying and finding quality upholstered furniture-
Eight-way hand Tied Upholstery Manufacturers
My suggestion is to break up your purchase into two groups. One is upholstery and the other case goods. Then further divide that group into a category of desired durability vs. style. Different rooms can call for different quality/ durability of furniture or emphasis on style over durability.
Unique to my situation was that my family moved alot when I was growing up. Some of the furniture would fit better in our new homes better than others. My take-away was to invest more in furniture pieces that were more portable. That is, the pieces that were more likely to fit in a different sized room and also the style that might fit a different home. If you go on Craigs List you will see examples of expensive furniture people bought that no longer fit, for whatever reason. I try to stay away from purchasing those types of pieces.
I like canvas art, but I’m wondering if using these particular photographs on canvas would sort of blur or dilute the images. They’re so beautiful and haunting, I’d want to them to look as clear as possible, and with the feel of vintage B&W art.
Hopefully that makes sense!
Friday is a genuis in all things art, so will hopefully see this and weigh in.
I believe there are 6 glass balls (if you zoom in, you can see a ball hiding behind each one of the 2 center balls).
Google Image search brought me this Hayden Chandelier, which looks identical, or at least very similar:
