I received my order from Hornbakers on April 19th. It’s a little sooner than I’m ready for because a lot of my hostas aren’t showing yet, and I need to see where they all are before I add more! But it's not a problem.

They arrived in good shape, the roots wrapped in plastic. I think they're all good size. Apologies that my hands were too dirty to take a pic of the roots. I potted them up and put them in a protected area under my deck.

In order is….. Grand Prize, Brentwood Blues, Midnight Oil, and Wrinkle in Time.

And they sent some paperwork that explained what I was wondering was on the leaves from the hostas I got from Hornbakers last fall, end of summer, really. This is what they wrote, "It is sometimes difficult to ship perfect looking hostas in the middle of the summer. We do a lot of overhead watering from our well, and that can result in some mineral residue on the leaves." So that's what I was seeing last year that wouldn't wash off. I knew it wasn't anything harmful, just a mystery that's now solved.

Hope Springs Eternal from last fall, end of summer.

I disagree. Looks like cold damage or sunburn to me. Remove those bad looking leaves, and see how the plant does after that. The newer, more protected leaves show no damage.

Too early for nematodes, and HVX generally spreads out from the veins. Look at the HL photos to see that.

Due to the number of negative reviews I wanted to give an update. I ordered two "Quart" Lenten roses. They arrived in good order, with several sprigs of green leaves and the root bundle moist. I have reordered for several other varieties that are not available in my home nurseries. I was satisfied.

I'm in Dallas. There were some clouds, but it opened up enough to see the best parts of the eclipse. I didn't ever get the glasses, so was just going to watch on TV.

I stopped at the nursery to get some expanded shale, and they gave me some viewing glasses. When I got to the grocery store, I looked up and saw the "crescent" sun. I gave the glasses to the cashier. I watched it on TV, and they said you can take off your glasses to see the corona shot. so, I went outside It was awesome, and I didn't expect it to be.

It got dark, the street lights came on for a very few minutes. My dogs weren't bothered at all.
