I brought all neutrals on my recent trip to Portugal and loved having a colorful scarf too.

Should be fun to put together. I hang the pictures in our home. I was trying to hang 3 pictures all even by the top of the frame in our bedroom. My DH did not need to know that between the three pictures there were 18 incorrect holes behind them.

Tagging never works for me here, but didn't Mtn mention owning this brand in another thread? Maybe by bringing this back to top she’ll notice and chime in.

Thanks bbstx, I couldn’t remember which thread and there are a few mentioning clothing choices so I didn’t want to search.

Cyn those are so cute. I am still deep in my animal phase...

Yes, as BBSTX said --- but slippers could be fine, and also other people may not mind it. I have never before felt a pair of shoes lacked support, but these felt odd to me. YMMV

I have a pair of Vivaia loafers, a pair of ballet flats and a pair of pumps. Love the flats but I don’t love the pumps, I think the heel is 1 1/2 inches, but my foot feels like it is falling towards the toe, it that makes any sense. Make sure the flats are big enough; they are confortable even when snug, and you might not realize they are too small until you’ve worn them a bit.

I also have a pair of black wool thigh length boots from Vivaia that I didn’t order at first because the idea of a ”sock boot” seemed odd. They are comfortable and very warm and I really really like them .

They have a good return policy so I would not hesitate to buy those shoes as a gift. I’ve taken a peek at those more than once!

I downsized to my townhouse 10 years ago. When I was cleaning out the attic in my old house before the move, I had so much to deal with that any photos I found I just dumped into 4 large plastic storage boxes, and moved them to my new place and buried them in a closet.

Last November, my son was turning 40 and I was asked to find old photos. At the time I was home with Covid and it was a good time to go through the boxes. I had photos from my parents’ childhoods up to somewhere in the early 2000’s when we started to go digital. (I did not get to the multiple old laptops I have in a drawer with photos on them).

Maybe some of you might do this better than I did as I didn’t make albums or put anything in any kind of order. I just separated the photos into boxes for each of my children, their father (my ex), my late husband’s family and one for me. I was not good about putting any info on the photos when I first stored them, but if there were any references to when or where the photos were taken I put that on the back of the photos. I threw out bags and bags of duplicate, unflattering or irrelevant pictures.

I had quite a trip down memory lane, especially when I got to my teen/twenty years. I was a photographer when I was in high school and I had many negatives and prints of old friends and my HS boyfriend’s band. I started to contact friends that I hadn't seen in decades, and they were all happy to hear from me. I also mailed them photos. And then I put friends in touch with other friends and the gang is back together again, all across the country. Besides having more space in the closet now, I also have new old friends.

I pretty much only read the 1 and 2 star reviews. I know what the 4/5 star reviews will say. I'm interested in what people didn't like. I mostly do this for resorts and products on the big A. And yes there are a lot of ridiculous bad reviews as in my example above.

DH finds and books restaurants and in all our years together, I think he's only had 1 miss. He enjoyed his meal thoroughly. I couldn't eat most of mine but I'm an extremely picky eater. The place is very popular (it was crazy busy). It's just not for me, but I would not leave a bad review because of my pickiness.

Most prom dresses here are three hankies sewn together.

I'm surprisingly in touch with current prom fashion trends. There's a store a few blocks from me that specializes in formalwear and catalogues buyers so that no 2 young women wear the same dress to the same prom, etc. They have creative window displays that change every week, so that when I walk by, I can view what's the latest. I love that dress, Kswl--the color is on point, but the style is not. At least not now!

I took a long walk with friends this afternoon, and we crossed a bridge that served as a photo op for local prom couples. I wanted to say something, but couldn't decide between, "You are beautiful!" and "Use a c-------!"

Hhierno, i understand totally.

Which is why some petite size ranged women might be able to wear regular tops or regular size pants.

Petite is proportion. Not such height but length of arms, lengths of legs.

Thank you all again for your kind words and thoughts about this. I finally worked up my courage to call her, worried that I wouldn't be able to squeak out any words, but just start crying. But it was a really upbeat conversation and she made it very easy to stay positive. I had sent a waxed Amaryllis bulb to her via her daughter and she told me how it was in full bloom and such a delight. Then she told me how in 1924, her grandfather had moved in with her family for a few years and brought a tub of Amaryllis bulbs with him that bloomed every year. He kept them going for many years, then in the 1980's he passed on the bulbs to his great-grandson, who has kept them going all these years. Her daughter (my friend) recently visited the great-grandson and brought home 4 of these bulbs. So, in telling me this story, she was relating how special having a blooming Amaryllis is for her at this time.

She was a teacher and our conversation ran the gamut from Socrates to her thoughts about humanity going forward. One take-away for me when we talked about the current political climate and happenings: "It's always been hard to be a human." And another, "I think humanity, despite how it might look, is still headed in an upward direction."

So we said our good-byes, expressed our love, and I had a good cry after I hung up.

Well, I was away from the forums for a while and apparently missed something. I can probably fill in the blanks and the players.

This is a confusing issue for me, not being able to imagine killing myself, not sure how I feel about it all. But this is not MY life and I believe I don't know what I would chose for me or my loved ones in circumstances I can only imagine. Wishing that someone continue to suffer horrendous pain, with no hope for change in the future, doesn't seem like a very moral or compassionate view. Today I would say I would never make this choice. Five years from now, if I had a terminal illness, I don't know what my view would be.

Doesn't matter what I think; it's her choice to make.

I changed the title of this post, realizing that what I'd written was probably insensitive to some. I didn't see until just now that there was an option this long after posting to edit it. Thanks to BLFenton for planting the seed for a better name for what my friend is doing.

It is so on trend, but the vanity makes it just a little bit different. I love the rug you chose and hope you post when that is in.I might add some bamboo blinds to the windows in a light color like your vanity.

This is something you actually see. Quite a lot, they compare a sandal like a Birkenstock for walking around town with a healed sandal and they're not the same thing and they're not for the same places.
