I am SO glad it worked out!

I am, however, laughing, because we have been replacing the handrails on our steps. I measured to make sure DH picked up long-enough boards. DH asked, as he was cutting, what the length was. DS went and easured the side steps' rails. They cut them all, I painted them, and we went to install them yesterday afternoon. The front ones are....5 or so inches too short. LOL.

. However, the photo of the porch - showing the package - isn’t my porch.

I am waiting for the first art exhibit of package delivery photos. I myself have quite the portfolio building up.

Two years after moving, a company sent a replacement to our last address. I had deleted that address from my online account and the original item had not even been sent there. The current owner left at guardhouse and DD2 picked up for me. Seriously, wth.

Are they sending you another replacement? They can have the delivery company pick up the incorrect delivery. So frustrating!

Annie - that is great news> I'm really happy for you.

I wonder if it would work on eyebrows? My one brow is obviously thinner than the other and now I need to use a brow pencil to fill it in.

Actually I think the design was developed for commercial spaces, because it comes as "mountable" fixture as well, one that has no base, and can be fixed on a countertop. So I think it was designed with the contract/commercial design market in mind, which has a short life-cycle, usually under ten years.

But still the whole idea of an entire fixture being "broken" for lack of a replaceable light source just seems stupid and wasteful. The light source may be more efficient than an incandescent bulb but what about the rest of the 4 or 5 foot tall object going to a landfill.

This is like the refrigerator lie. That 50 year old fridge your parents had in their basement always did and still does use less energy than a modern "Energy Star" fridge.

The good news, according to the pop-up ad, is that vets can get $100,000 towards this monster.

Is there any room that was not struck with the ugly stick? Even that bathtub is horrible.

That piano sticks out like a sore thumb.

Lars, you are correct that the flood risk is high. I noticed that along with the incredibly low property taxes (compared to ours).

Owner's quote: "“We didn’t want something that was going to fall out of favor..."

No fear of that! It's already out of favor! I agree with most of what's been said, that it is way too ornate, too much like a palace or museum or public space than a home that feels cozy. The marble bath tub got me as it'd never get warm enough to be usable. But I suspect this house had nothing to do with being practical or useful. Not surprised that they want to sell it. What makes me think they're moving into a 2500 sq ft colonial???

I don't even read articles with click-bait titles like that -- reading some responses here is enough. Yes, prices have gone up because demand has gone up (shocker!), and because individuals are priced out by corporations and private equity firms (sad, but reality).

The housing situation is kind of backfiring in a lot of high-demand, high-priced locations: They're unable to find people to take low- and middle-earning jobs because appropriate housing can't be found. I was listening to a podcast about Aspen schools building tiny houses in order to attract teachers to their city, who otherwise couldn't afford to live there (and it mentioned other towns doing similar things). That's bad in a whole lot of ways.

I think dogs bark even when they are poor. But I am right there with your on Big Screen TVs on campgrounds? Obnoxious.
