Love your space
I wouldn't be concerned about the gray and white chairs, and certainly wouldn't design the living room area around them. If they don't work with the palette you go with, then either sell them or use them in another room.
Thanks - I just thought it would all be too busy with the patterned chairs AND all the family photos. That is the look I was thinking the fourth attachment.
I like the simplicity and calmness here with arranging and spacing.

It's not painted yet. I'll post an update once it is:)!
Here's my updated faux built ins
@Jen Kelly we decided to pair santa ceilia with black galaxy and turned out beautiful. Our kitchen is in bisque so it needed a pop of color. I'm going to change over to Alabaster eventually b/c i want a more creamy white rather than antique white. Still work to do in here
What did you end up doing?
Anything but gray. It's an accent rug so you can have fun with it. Something to brighten up the neutral space:
Persian-style runners are so pretty and colorful! Lots are sold on Etsy and they aren't very expensive:
This looks like a hooked rug:
Arts and crafts style:
Stripes are always fun!
A more muted Persian:
Dash and Albert striped runners are awesome and come in a variety of colors and patterns:
Thank you
Those will work! I like the metal - it’s “brushed” looking.
Thank you @Boxerpal for the compliment on my kitchen.
I kind of like exposed hinges, so I would leave them as is. Also is that one of your original pulls in photo #1? It looks absolutely fine so that's something else I would leave as is--just reinstall them when the doors go back up.
Are you painting the island as well?
Ok, was just a suggestion--you do you.
