Kendrah, thank you. I love the slabs that I chose. I’m still bummed about everything that went wrong with the installation etc. , but it is what it is. I am enjoying the refresh.
I was going to suggest a bit of pattern/color, but I do like the new window treatment.
almost the same colors, but the window blind/light take it up a bit.
It seems like the coloring around the window is all the same. was wondering if you could do anything like this w/the inset portion of the window? or maybe a sill?
I think a taller faucet would also look a bit better.
did a few diff photoshops w/some options that I think might work in your space to take it up a notch.
This was my idea for a window blind w/a bit of pattern/color. and some lighter stools.
And, if I could have picked pendants, maybe something like this w/island chairs
maybe bring in a runner like this in front of the sink or stove area:
Notice the under cabinet lighting, lighter items, and look how they did the black island top^
I do like the taller white vase w/the flowers and tray of smaller things
I like this flush mount light too. Cost Plus World market
a bit diff w/a darker blind, pendant, bowl of lemons/some kind of greenery on the island
or, do a duo or trio of these faux tulips on the island
You could also do a longer natural wood item w/succulents, I like the lighter/natural chairs too
or, try a taller vase w/some green stems, bowl of fruit
And, since everything over there is rather dark, think about some lighter accessories,
I think I'd get a runner w/some color and design too. doesn't have to be bold, maybe something like this^
This one is almost your coloring. the gold faucet, wood accesorries and green plants give it some dimensiont.
Wow, thank you so much for all of the great ideas Beth H! The kitchen opens to a great room which has a lot of texture, pattern and color so that’s why I haven’t added much of that in the kitchen. I have a tall vase with greenery on my fireplace visible from the kitchen, so I think the ideas of lower decorative greenery, fruit, etc. on the island would work best. I don’t love the faucet either, but I’m kind of stuck with it because it is an all in one faucet and water purifier hooked up to a system. There are two rugs in the adjacent rooms visible from the kitchen and that’s why I have been a little stumped on the runner. I was afraid of it clashing too much with the rugs in the other rooms. I’ll have to take a few more pictures of what the kitchen looks like from another angle. Thanks again for all these wonderful ideas!
