I forgot to answer your question about the buzzing sound. There is sometimes a quiet buzzing but it's infrequent. When it does happen, it's when I initially turn on a burner and when it stays on the simmer setting. It's not annoying and it's helpful to remind me if I've left a pan on low heat. Definitely not a negative issue for me.
The other great thing about SubZero/Wolf is their customer service. I have mostly SZW appliances but I also have Miele dishwashers and an Electrolux washer/dryer. SZW takes customer service to a whole other level. You can actually speak to a live person pretty easily and they are very friendly and knowledgeable. Even though I live in a populated area, it is almost impossible to get a Miele certified tech to service our dishwashers and reaching Miele by phone or online is incredibly frustrating and difficult. Electrolux is not much better.
I hope you have good luck with your new cooktop. I certainly love mine.
