I don’t think it’s the butcher’s fault, the bones just don’t seem to run perpendicular to the roast. i typically just sacrifice a triangular piece off the end.



As for the oscillating tool, I’ve got one from the original brand Fein, and a cheapo Chicago Electric knock-off. I don’t use them often, but when you need one they’re good to have. Great for zero clearance cuts. I’ve got a hearth project I keep putting off, where I’ll use one to cut back the flooring.

Anyway, dinner looks good!

Am I seeing lotus root there? If so, is it dyed (with beet juice maybe)? Lotus root I've had is a putty color.
