The tile on the floors and shower walls is beautiful and exactly what I'm looking for! Can you share who makes it?

#2 almost brought tears to my eyes - it is so similar to the bedroom I stayed in at my grandparents' home. After that, #s 10, 8, 5 and 4 warm the cockles of my heart. All the others are lovely, too, but I can't do a dark-colored bedroom.

Recently redid our Master bedroom waterfront home with soft colors, hues of the color of the water and this Phillip Jeffries wallpaper.

Apparently, wingback headboards are having a moment since I counted five of them in this article!

Love this house from top to bottom, the layout, the flow, materials, finishes, scale, details, furniture, lighting, vibe ... and those Jonathan Adler planters with that vertical plant flanking the glass hallway absolutely blew me away. Love it.

Such a lot to love about this sensitive re-vamp. Everything is so harmonious and well-integrated. Lucky children growing up in a house like this !

Very nice! Wonderful attention to detail and especially commend Ms. George for designing with breezes and southern exposures in mind. Mary Colter of today!

@Becky Harris thanks for showing proof that an accessible bathroom doesn't have to look institutional. This room is so clean and bright looking, and that wood vanity really does bring the balance of warmth.

I love the clean look of this bathroom. Using one main tile and adding that striking blue vertical tile on the back wall makes it look bigger.

Although this seems like a “simple” bathroom, every decision was well made - the cabinet color and design, the floor tile, how to situate the shower glass, the hardware choices. This is a great example of a bathroom being well designed.

What a masterful design in the dining area, thoughtfully created from what was originally a dark hallway/corner. The columns! The art on the columns! The table! The chairs! The light fixture! I’m overwhelmed by the beauty that can result when a talented designer has clients willing to entertain extraordinary possibilities. Enjoy it!!

If I had the chance to redesign a laundry room, right from the beginning I'd install a laundry chute. We had one when I was young and it was such a time saver.

It's interesting to see the European laundry rooms with DRYERS. That wasn't the norm until recently it would seem. Also, I am in the minority as someone who has stuck with my toploading washer. When we did a big remodel and put in a laundry room as opposed to the using the basement, I kept my top loading machine as it has a real hand wash cycle. I also like to throw in items after it starts and not worry about the issues I heard about with the front loaders. There are only two of us so it's fine. I've used front loaders while living overseas and I prefer the top loader. My house in Pretoria, South Africa had a huge Speed Queen, however, with a hand wash cycle. Heaven!

Stacked washer/dryer units just don't work for a short person. Glad to see side-by-side examples.

With many thoughtful renovations they transformed a meh house to a star! Love the way they did the landscaping and windows to bring more light into the house, and make a more modern vibe that goes with the horizontal lines! Also glad they kept a garage instead of making it a room. Homeowners need garages!

I really dig this house too! A Master Plan is such a good idea and this home is a testament to that.

We love what John Conroy has done with this client's house exterior, as part of a master plan. His use of innovative and durable materials enhances the look and the structure of the residence. The renovation plays up all the beauty of a classic ranch with its timeless design. The mix of the Cor-Ten steel with the cedar is divine. Very envious of the lucky homeowner!

Totally agree, Becky…..it’s why so many people are now looking for homes, even 2nd or 3rd homes (if they’re lucky😉), in ”greener pastures”, quite literally. Great article!

I lived in Colorado Springs for 8 years and worked right next to Garden of The Gods. I'm curious where this house was built. Such an amazing view indeed! It has many elements that are definitely must haves for me if we do a custom build.

@crazyhearts So sorry, I meant to answer you weeks ago and just realized I didn't! You drive down the driveway, park and then make a turn or two walking — it gives you different views of different things, like the rocky hillside. And there are different materials under your feet — it becomes more and more "built" from stepping stones, up the stairs to the landing under your feet — as you approach the door and grab that wonderful wood handle that was crafted with love.

The experience continues once you enter into the compressed entry space, turn the corner and enter the public spaces with the soaring ceilings and expansive views of the mountains.

This bathroom is stunning. The choice of the tile color really makes the whole room pop. It's one of the best bathrooms that I've seen on Houzz.
