Keep the blue and paint an arching rainbow beginning in lower right corner. Is it possible to replace cube with a curved item. The sharp angle emphasizes the starkness of the area.

Over a year old

I thought justin was referring to the gaudy rococo set. None of us thought of making that dresser into a bar. Hey justin! paint it black!

We had a cabinet that we needed expanded to put in the newer shape of a TV - i.e. our old wall unit had a square and we wanted a larger TV that is a rectangle. Can't you remove it?

My very first thought was adding an arch between the 2 sections of the room. Then Curt pictured what I imagined! Because lightweight curved, and paintable inserts are available, this can be a not too complex DIY change. Enjoy!

@Blee, :) now that you mention it the ops picture looks too much like a box. I didn't even think of adding an arch, but now that you said it...yes, an arch looks good too

A family room? Have some fun! With white ceiling, white OK, but I would wait, then pick up a color that will be in the room ... Or choose something like my fan in my tiny apartment, butterflies that match my walls. (Child's room fan, found on internet). This one had built in light, not especially ugly, soft pleasant light with fluorescent bulb, chain pulls so speed varies, light on or off, fan on or off.

Be sure to get a remote for the fan/light. And get a clapper for your other table lamps...you know...clap on, clap off--the clapper?

Just be careful if you get one with a dimmer the light bulbs are very very expensive ,you need to purchase dimmable light bulbs for it or it will not work on the dimmer . done that never again I say !

Chairs - 0pps. tapped wrong pic, almost invisible on mini IPad. Though those couches look pretty nice. Try again.

Hey, Luke, I found a frog chair, and if you don't like frogs there are ants, cobras, and a wonderful creepy zoo of bug chairs. Fabulous, so check out Wild Designs Frog Chair. Alas, they don't look "mighty comfy".

Flip a coin? I am still in 2- tone camp .... If it is to be one color, aqua might be too alarming on such a large piece. I have trouble visualizing all gilt, though it could be spectacular - for a solid, consider a pumpkin family color lighter than your walls.

I'm sorry this dresser is hideous. Free or not. However my golden rule is "if you don't like it, paint it." If the top is actually made of wood, I would refinish it in a walnut stain with a flat finish poly. Get rid of the the middle knobs by plugging the holes and highlight the metal strips with long bar like hardware on the middle drawers. I would paint the rest of the dresser a dark mossy green to counter that very orange wall.

luckily an attractive design … a hardwood edging compatible with other wood in the home could soften the look along the brick wall, stair-stepping up. Presumably the whole staircase could be carpeted. I echo bgfuqua's questions. also Is it indoor or outdoor?

What are the other surfaces that you have in the home. Cannot see - therefore its best to post other photos in order to assist better

A burning citronella candle (so I can skip the matches bit), A survival book that happens to include information on how to make tequila, and liquid nitrogen (in ample quantities, so I can make both ice for my margaritas and explosions so folks passing by on land or sea notice me before my bug repellant runs out).

Bathmat - from a thrift store. I now sing on key in the shower!

Speaking of mugs - my passion is music, and I also collect thrift store frogs, so these little guys were a satisfying find. They would like to live in the bathroom with my new-to-me shower curtain, but no surface for them. Now my shower songs occasionally devolve into a croaking crescendo.

Round rug, this one only 4' diameter, but they come super-sized as well.

Shags and sisal rugs come in round as well, in many colors. Can any of contributing professionals comment pro or con? (My rug is in a heavily traveled area, so I chose a patterned wool).

I guess I am a bit of a circle freak - I look forward to seeing how nice all this looks when you have it just the way you want! Enjoy!
