In my climate, I just use the plastic stretchy tomato tying tape. It will eventually rot in a few yrs but it doesn't mildew or rot as fast in our humidity as Jute does. The velcro stays too wet here during the rainy season and molds. Plus, the mealy bugs are in love with it. No clue why but I used to find clusters of them inside the velcro between the velcro *tape* and the stems of the plants.
