Yes we are using the fireplace. It’s quite lovely actually. The wall above it though like you say gets warm. I like your suggestion about putting a sofa ( cannot fit two) across the room. Perhaps an accent chair on the other side instead of the second sofa? There has to be space to go round the sofa to exist on to the garden. But that’s a thought 💭 👍🏻
