Konrad Your Tiger lilies are beautiful. We have the lily beetles around, if you don't watch they will decimate the leaves. Looks awful. If you spot any beetles, even one, just squash it (yuck!) or drop into jar with some water in it. Anytime there is a black gunk on the underside of the leaves (that is actually excrement with larvae in it-yuck again!), knock it off with a spray from hose. Larvae will die if not on the leaves-no food. That's best way to control them. (See photo what happens if you leave them on...) Most important is to get rid of adults so they don't breed. Hope you never see them...Rina

It's funny you should mention that. I've had quite a few daylilies re-bloom this year that have never done this before in my garden. DOUBLE PASSION started re-blooming last weekend and is still going strong. I'm guessing it might be all the rain we've had this year, but whatever it is, I'm loving it! Daylilies got their name because each flower opens up for one day. Some, such as "STELLA D'ORO" will re-bloom after a rest of about a month, but some years even the re-bloomers don't make a second attempt. The secret, I think is to have early, mid-season and late bloomers in the same bed so you have a nice display for several months. I don't know about Z10, but here in Northern Il. my daylilies start blooming the end of May and different varieties put up scapes and blooms right through September. Actually, right now "PAPER BUTTERFLY" has put up numerous scapes but unfortunately, they will get frost bite before they get a chance to re-bloom.
