Problems with tomato plants

We have just started to put young tomato plants into the ground and noticed that some have leaves that go all crinkly and look pretty lame, also they have some yellow stains on the leaves and the stem looks like it's been frozen although it's still firm.
Has anyone had this happened before and what did you do.

"A new tomato grower"? Heh. It's OK, you can say it was me! Thanks for the tips. I guess most of my plants are indeterminate -- even the cherry tomato plant. I still don't know what I'm going to do about support. There's so many options and I really don't know what's going to work best. Hey, I was just checking my radar and I thought of you guys near the Red River. It looks like NE OK is going to get the brunt of this latest "rain event" as they call it on the evening news. Rain event. I love their terminology. Can I buy tickets to a rain event? Well, I hope you guys are OK. I know some of you had muddy gardens before this rain started falling, but as for me, it'll help my latest transplants get "watered in."

This is a picture of the same plant in the second photo. Not alot of limestone here in our part of the woods we are in the low lands. As far as what I'm doing for soil it is potting mix in this one real loose dirt doesnt get packed up. Using ferterlizer for tomatoe plants cant rembmer the numbers but its the normal everyday stuff. I kind of backed off of watering I thought it might have been from too much water with the rain we had. Can they get this way from too much water or is that not an option. It does have 3 tomatoes already also

Agree, it looks like Early Blight on the leaves. Luckily it is easy to control with a good fungicide such as Ortho Garden Disease or Daconil. Not sure about the stem...maybe insect damage, or maybe the stem broke at some point and is trying to heel itself.

you might also try the tomato forum .. again.. its butted up against a tall wooden fence..my first thought is lack of vigor from lack of full sun ... and once a plant lacks vigor.. all kinds of stuff happens ... a T usually can.. outgrow many minor problems ... the bugs leave before it becomes a big problem ... BTW .. just like your other post.. this is a NAME THAT PLANT FORUM ... not a help my plant forum ... no need to apologize.. just trying to lead you to the experts you need ... you might also add where you are ... Ts should be taking off for most of us... by now .... ken
