Arch and Mandy.

funnelweb(NSW Aust)January 18, 2014

This is a pic of my garden archway topped, well it's an 'off the shoulder look' with a yellow mandevillea, M. 'Sundial'.

B.
PS. The 'off the shoulder look' is a consequence of having to rebuilt the top of the arch on account of my Jackaranda tree being split in half by ex-cyclone Oswald and falling on the arch smashing the arching timbers (see a previous entry). I've now replaced the top with hardwood instead of 'treated' pine - much stronger. Oh, I had to cut back the mandi. and this is regrowth.

Very nice. Mandevilleas grow pretty fast, so they recover well. I have to really cut mine back, otherwise they'd take over. I've got "Cherry Ripe" and "Apricot" something or other.

How about a photo of the Cherry ripe and Apricot "something"?
Being in the midst of winter, here in Toronto, Canada, every bit of colour and blooms helps.

A nice structure Bill, and will be a feature that will last.Too hot for almost any gardening here last week-4 days over 41c - but we are lucky we always get a cool change and the weather looks great for the next week.

Yes Inga, I had the same request from a friend on Vancouver Island, some summer photos. However, "Cherry ripe and apricot something", Inga? Sorry, I can't think of what that might be.
