The Prize!
Camassia scilloides
Camassia scilloides is one of the earliest plants to bloom in the garden. This North American native is found in moist meadows and open woods and is commonly known as wild hyacinth. The nearly three foot tall spikes of pale blue flowers open slowly over a period of weeks, blooming from the bottom of the stem upwards. Propagation is very easy from seeds which are produced in abundance.
