 o Clues to the Mystery Plant:

  1. This plant is a native of the Eastern Hemisphere.
  2. This plant may reach 60 cm (24 in) in height.
  3. The flowers of this plant are pale yellow.
  4. The leaves of this plant reach 25 cm (10 in) in length.
  5. This plant belongs to the same botanical family as Cardiocrinum cordatum.
    [ Editors note: When the above clue was written, we were using a source that placed our mystery plant in the same family as Cardiocrinum cordatum. We subsequently learned that the genus containing the mystery plant should correctly be placed in a different family, Melanthiaceae. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.]
  6. This plant's preferred habitat is a marsh.

Primula japonica 'Miller's Crimson'

Primula japonica 'Miller's Crimson' produces 12"-24" tall candelabras of abundant, deep-crimson flowers in mid-summer. This plant prefers average to moist soil and a shady location.
