Alstroemeria psittacina
Believe it or not there is a hardy species of Alstroemeria. A native of Brazil long grown as a cutflower, Alstroemeria psittacina has withstood temperatures well below zero. It flowers in mid to late summer, bearing beautiful long tubular red flowers speckled in greeen and brown. Its height in flower is
18-28". It prefers full sun to part shade with average moisture.
