The Mystery Plant Contest
Contest Begun October 2000
This contest was won by J. Reed who submitted a slight variation of our source's version of the nomenclature on Thursday, November 2nd, at 19:16 ET. And 12 hours later, Lynn Sherman submitted the answer as according to our source. Because we found it difficult to say who clearly won, Barry Glick at Sunshine Farm & Gardens generously agreed to give both prizes!
If you would like to try your hand at guessing the correct answer, the clues available when the contest was won are provided below. The correct answer can be displayed at the bottom of the page.

The Prize!
Ajuga 'Chocolate Chip'
Another Ajuga-OH NO!! But wait, even though there will probably never be an
Ajuga that would make me say "here's a plant I
can't live without", Ajuga 'Chocolate Chip' is an adorable little plant makes me smile. Its narrow
bronzy foliage glistens in the sun showing off its 6"-10" tall, deep blue
flower spikes.
This is an exceptionally fast growing selection that flowers on and off
during the summer and grows equally well in sun or shade. I've never heard
of an Ajuga that wasn't fully hardy everywhere.
This month's contest winner will receive three
Ajuga 'Chocolate Chip'
supplied by Sunshine Farm & Gardens.
