The Prize!

Primula x polyantha 'Barnhaven Hybrids'
No plant heralds the arrival of spring more vividly than the primrose. And
no strain of primrose has ever equalled the beauty of the world-famous
Barnhavens. Created during the Great Depression, when prosaic garden writer
Florence Bellis of Bellingham, Washington, spent her last $5.00 on an order of
Sutton's seeds from England, and continuing to thrive under their current caretaker, Angela
Bradford of Plouzelambre, France, the Barnhavens have a long, deep, romantic
heritage.
Over 600 strains now exist and are being introduced back into
cultivation by Barry Glick of Sunshine Farm & Gardens, the supplier of our prizes. So far SF&G
has reintroduced more than 100 of the famous plants, with plans to
reintroduce the entire range.
This month's contest winner will receive three
Primula x polyantha 'Barnhaven Hybrids'
supplied by Sunshine Farm & Gardens.
