We live on a little lake in Central Florida. Well, we dont actually live ON the lake but close to it:) There are all sorts of birds visiting our lake. Sandhill cranes, coots, herons, mallards, anhingas and others. We moved to this place about 6 years ago and I had a blank canvas to start with. No flowers and few trees. All the wonderful people on GardenWeb are helping me turn our yard into a little oasis for the butterflies and birds. We have lots of butterflies now and I am very interested in attracting a greater variety. Recently I have become interested in xeriscaping,butterfly and hummingbird gardening. I am always looking at other peoples trash for pots, plants or other usable garden goodies:)

My husband and I started out trying to get the lawn to look really good but have recently decided that wildflowers & xeriscaping is the way to go. There is always so much to do and I am always behind but I love it! I am growing seeds again which I hadnt done since I was a child. I love seeing them come up and grow:) I started on GW in March 2001, I think it was. Since then I can look around my yard and it is filled with treasures from many of you. I hope everyone has peace and pleasure in their gardens and nice overcast drizzly days for planting:)
