I was born, grew up, went to college, and spent most of my professional career in Michigan's automotive industry. The downturn in Michigan's economy left me unemployed so in 2011 I packed up and moved to Colorado for a new job and to start a new chapter in my life. I always said if I had to leave the incredible beauty of Michigan, it would be for somewhere equally as beautiful - and Colorado is absolutely beautiful. I traded the Great Lakes for the Mountains! I moved from Zone 5 in MI to Zone 5 in CO and figured I could grow the same plants and bulbs in CO as I did in MI. Boy was I wrong! I am now learning all about growing things in an extremely arid environment, which has been an adventure in itself!
