I am 26 years old, and live in rural west TN with my wonderful husband and many pets, as well as a yard brimming with plants. I suppose all of the animals and plants are in a way an overcompensation for our lack of children... we have lost two babies to miscarriage, one to an ectopic pregnancy, and also have trouble conceiving. Gardening and tending our pets keeps me busy. Except for not being able to add to our family, I love my simple life. My mother and father taught me a love of plants, and in the last few years we have added many to our yard. It is very random but pleasant, I think. One of my favorite recent additions has been a little pond full of tame pet goldfish (and two boisterous young koi) which I can stroke and feed by hand.

Aside from these little guys, we have 4 dogs, 2 cats and 2 kittens, a ball python, a green-cheeked conure parrot, a pet goat, 3 rabbits, 10 ducks, 2 turkeys, a pot-bellied pig, a few laying hens, a flock of free-flying pigeons, a flock of bantam chickens, one big pleco, guppies, and one beta. I have a special love of poultry of all sorts, since my parents had these when I was a child.
