I picked the name Yard Mom because it was my two small children that were really the catalyst for me developing an interest in gardening. They never wanted to go outside to play unless I was along. They are now teenagers. Since then my interest grows stronger every year. I am a teacher, but if I could make a new career choice, landscape design would be it! Maybe I'll start a new career when I retire....
