Love gardens in general and Japanese/Oriental style gardens in particular. I enjoy the excitement of planning new landscaping, of seeing beautiful pictures of plants in books and catalogs.

For a long time, while my children were growing, gardening was a way for me to relieve the stress and frustrations of parenting, while teaching my kids how to respect and appreciate nature. Now they are grown and almost gone from the parental home I am working full time in my profession in translation. I also have more time to work in my garden and to read about Japanese gardens, traditions and culture.
I have found great peace and contentment in this hobby and I wish the same to other people. I hope to hear from people with the same interests. People who like to work in a small scale on a little serene corner around their home, but who sometimes have grandiose dreams of living in the middle of a real Japanese garden, such as the garden (park) surrounding the Golden Temple in Kyoto or so many others I have seen there and in Nara.
