I am a retired community college biology instructor with a special interest in plants. While I was a teacher, the college contructed a greenhouse and I agreed to maintain it. Initially I collected plants of all sorts as resources for my Botany classes. As time went on, I developed an interest in orchids. I continue to maintain the greenhouse in my retirement and the number of orchids under my care continues to grow each year (at the expense of certain other species).
