I am a married mother of 1 (soon to be 2 in october), and gardening is my wonderful oasis of escape. I, along with my new family, am living in my first house, with a very small yard that borders a heavily wooded area.
When we moved here, Every bit of our yard was overgrown and out of control! Over the past two years I have been cleaning it all up, adding perennials, and welcoming all of the little and big critters that like what Im doing.--and there are plenty. haha.
The deer and rabbits keep me on my toes as far as all of my spring shoots are concerned. But can I just say that the same male deer has been visiting since weve been here, and he is just awe-strickingly beautiful, and he is more than welcome to chew on a few of my plants. haha. The rabbits...well, I have noticed that a pair of hawks have nested very near by. I fear the rabbits need the plants for the energy of a sporting chance at survival.
Anyway, I am new to the world of gardening, and I love it.
