Our house in on a 2-acre lot with woods and open areas. There are 5 of us, Grandma, myself my wife my daughter and son.

Our house is in the little town of Wismer; it was the general store and post office. We recently had to make some major changes to the house, due to years of neglect by previous owners. So the store and post office areas are gone (insect damage, inadequate, structure) but we kept the architectural elements the same. I spent weeks milling all the trim in the new sections of the house to match the existing parts.

We have begun the re-landscaping of the house as construction removed most of the existing plantings (there wasn't much to begin with!) One of our challenges is our soil, heavy clay and no drainage! We get lots of runoff from the drainage ditch in front of our house.

We have a large (for us) vegetable garden (35'X 45') but with the large population of deer it is a challenge to grow anything. We now have an electric fence around the garden which helps.

Our families other interests are woodworking, reading, TV (my wife calls this the brain sucking machine), Karate, cooking and family fun.
