I am a married mother of three trying to set up an organic herb and vegetable garden on a very tight budget in a rental house. We used to have a veggie garden in a house we owned five years back and I loved being able to go out and pick snow peas with my 2-year-old daughter (and watch as she ate most of them). I want to make sure that my son also knows that beetroot doesn't grow in a can and strawberries aren't really bitter like they are in the supermarket. One of my fondest memories of childhood is of staying at my Grandmothers and picking fresh strawberries out of the garden, taking them inside and washing and eating them in a bowl with cream. Heaven!
