We have lived, and been trying to grow things, on this 1/3 acre older suburban lot across the road from a wooded ravine/floodplain/creek for 6 years. There are now 13 trees on our property including 6 mature maples and 3 overgrown blue spruces. The soil is sand, sand, sand. Between this soil and the maples...well, it's a good thing the great lakes are close by!
