What were you thinking when you hired the low bidder? Construction is not like a boxed off the shelf consumer product... you get what you pay for!
Good isn’t cheap & cheap isn’t good!
Who am I:
I am an Internationally Renown Aquatic Designer & Contractor who's work has appeared in the NY Times, USA Today, the Wall Street Journal, CNN, HGTV, the Robb Report, Luxury Pools, Watershapes, Luxury Real Estate, & the Franklin Report. I have designed/built rooftop perimeter overflow pools, pools in basements with elevator floors (the pool floor raises up to meet the room's floor), and cantilevering off of cliffs.
I prescribe to the absolute highest performance standards. I have no tolerance for contractors who profess to "know it all," without the knowledge base or eductation to support their claims.
Properly built, swimming pools & spas ARE EXPENSIVE. There are countless industry standards which dictate how specific trades are to performe their work (TCNA, ACI, ANSI, ASA, etc.). While these are not "law" THEY ARE THE PERFORMANCE STANDARDS the contractor/installer will be held to in the event of a complaint about workmanship.
So... the only way to make something affordable to the masses, is to dumb it down. Either by hiring a dumb contractor or by hiring an incompetent installer who cuts corners to keep costs low.
