Since 2003 we have replaced shade trees and fruit trees and other plants lost during the drought at my mother-in-laws former home, she was in the rest home and then passed during the drought, so her garden received no attention.

I love salvias and lantanas; they are such a hummingbird and butterfly magnet! My goal is to have lots of flowers for the hummingbirds and butterflies and create a great spot for birds to stopover.

Our lizard population is growing which keeps our Toy Fox Terrier very busy with Mamma telling her to get her big clodhoppers out of the flowerbeds! LOL

DH has become a compost wacko! We are seeing a big difference in the soil since we began to add organic materials to the garden. Thank you Starbucks!

It is so much fun to share my extras with neighbors in hopes in some small way it can improve the neighborhood and our small town. Love the reaction so many people have to my cottage garden in front of my house (no lawn!). They often slow down to a crawl so they can take it all in.

I have plans for more, an arbor with roses over the landing to our enclosed front porch. I love roses and for the first time this year I was able to grow them!!

Grew tomatoes for the first time this year and shared LOTS with the neighbors and have already swapped for many new varieties for 2008 plus am adding other veggies to the list.

Our outdoor living room is taking shape, will have 2 walls of cannas, 3rd wall will be lantana so we are prepared to have lots of action to watch while relaxing in the shade. Would love to have a pond with Koi!
