Hey fellow garden nuts!

I live in zone 8, Ouachita parish in North Louisiana. I inherited a love of plants from my grandmother, she had a classic old time southern garden filled with wonderful plants such as crinum, althea, cannas, four O clocks, garden roses, cape jessamine, etc. My brother now owns her old place and unfortunately is not a gardener...some of the plants have suffered from neglect or died altogether. I occasionally scavenge from his yard for seedlings and have got several crinums that are now mature enough to bloom.

I love all old time plants, they have stood the test of time. I have been gardening at my present home for eight years and things are really beginning to do well, but of course there are always changes and additions.

I am married, with 3 cats, 2 dogs, and three horses. By the way horses and gardening go very well together!

Thats about it, oh, also I am a registered nurse by profession. Love to hear from anyone!
