Am a replant into VA 6b (maybe 7) from 26 seasons in NC zone 7b, almost 8. Thanks to CMale, I understand that BER is not due to a lack of calcium, but calcium displacement; to which an easy solution is consistent moisture levels. Mulch, mulch, mulch!!
