My real name is Sheri Williamson. Im a professional naturalist and co-founder of the Southeastern Arizona Bird Observatory, a non-profit conservation organization. Though my special interests include birds of prey, trogons, parrots, bats, snakes, and butterflies, Ive spent much of the last decade focusing on hummingbirds. Im one of less than 200 hummingbird banders in the United States and have banded 16 species, more than any other bander in North America. Ive written two books on the subject (so far): Attracting and Feeding Hummingbirds, and A Field Guide to Hummingbirds of North America (a Peterson Field Guide). When not busy with SABOs education and research programs, I give presentations at birding festivals around the country, lead birding and nature tours in the U.S., Mexico, Belize and elsewhere, and contribute to a variety of publications. My husband and I live in Bisbee, Arizona and manage our half-acre property for the benefit of hummingbirds, butterflies, and other native wildlife.
